  • Director (Technical) CAA with technical Staff attended Meeting of the Technical Committee to overseas fisheries related matters under the National Coastal Mission Scheme of MoEF&CC formulated based on blue economy principles under the umbrella programme of NCMP on 11.03.2024 through VC Chaired by the Joint Secretary (MF), MoFAHD, DOF, GOI.

  • Director (Technical) CAA with technical Staff attended Consultative meeting with States/UTs under the Chairmanship of Secretary, Department of Fisheries, Government of India on the "Pradhan Mantri Matsya Kisan Samridhi Sah-Yojana": a Central Sector Sub-scheme under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana on 11.03.2024 through hybrid mode.

  • US Officials from FDA & APHIS visited shrimp farms in Mudhivarthi Village, Vidavalur, Nellore District of Andhra Pradesh State on 07-03-2024. Interacted with farmer Vijayakumar Reddy on the BMPs and Bio security standards adopted in his farm for L.vannamei culture. Dr. P. Sankara Rao Director CAA, Sivarajan, DD MPEDA and M.Nageswara Rao, JD Fisheries have accompanied the US Officials.

  • US officials of FDA and APHIS have attended stakeholders meeting at CAA, Chennai on 6-3-2024 and presented on Bio security and disease prevention, Animal Drug Regulation, AMR, Hatching facilities in US and Exports from US etc, and had detailed discussion on the issues facing by the industry. The representative of Prawn Farmers Federation of India, All India Shrimp Hatcheries Association, Seafood Exporters association and SAP, Director RGCA, Prl. Scientists of ICAR-CIBA and Director CAA and staff have attended the meeting.

  • US officials of FDA and APHIS visited AQF unit of MPEDA,-RGCA on 6th March 2024 and had detailed discussion on import of SPF Broodstock to India. The Director RGCA and Director CAA have accompanied the US team.

  • Director Technical CAA has attended shrimp farmers and other stakeholders meet at Ongole organized jointly by Shrimp farmers Association and the Department of Fisheries on 1-3-2024

  • CAA convened sensitisation programme with officers of Fisheries, MPEDA, farmers, hatchery operators, aqua inputs manufacturers & Distributors of all costal states and UTs on registration of coastal aquaculture farms on 20-2-2024 through hybrid.mode, About 510 officers and stakeholders were participated in the programme.

  • Dr.Sankara Rao Director Technical CAA has attended training program on "Risk Management Survey and Loss Assessment in Shrimp Farming" organised by CIBA with representatives of Insurance Companies, field officer and stakeholders on 22-2-2024 and presented on "Present Status of Coastal Aquaculture - Challenges and Way forward

  • The CAA flags off National Campaign on Coastal Aquaculture Farms Registration/ renewals from Nagapattinam, Tamil Nadu on 14-2-2024. The meeting was attended by Shri. Chidambaram, President, Nagapattinam Aquaculture Farmers Association (NAFA), Shri. Shivasankar, Secretary, Nagapattinam Aquaculture Farmers Association (NAFA), Dr. V.Kripa, Secretary, CAA, Shri. Elamvaluthi, Joint Director (Nagapattinam), Department of Fisheries and Fishermen Welfare, Govt. of Tamil Nadu, Shri. Naresh Vishnu Tambhadu, Deputy Director, MPEDA and NaCSA, officials of CAA, Staff and Students of Tamil Nadu Dr. J. Jayalalithaa Fisheries University, Nagapattinam.

  • Inspection of shrimp hatcheries by the Inspection Committee of CAA in Tirupati District of AP State on 13th February 2024

  • 76th Coastal Aquaculture Authority Meeting is held on 12th February 2024 under the Chairmanship of Hon'ble Chairperson CAA at 11.30 AM through hybrid model.

  • The Inspection Committee of CAA inspected 9 shrimp hatcheries and one Polychaete live feed unit in Tamilnadu State on 6-2-2024

  • Director Technical CAA has participated in Aqua Goa Mega Fish.Festival at Goa on 4-2-2024 and presented on the role and responsibilities of CAA in promotion of sustainable coastal aquaculture in the country

  • CAA organized 3 days orientation programme to Consultants on CAA Amendment Act 2023 and CAA Rules, 2024 from 30th January 2024 to 1st February 2024 at CAA Head Quarters, Chennai

  • Inspection of shrimp hatcheries in Gujarat State by the Technical Inspection Committee of CAA on 24th.and 25th January 2024.

  • Union Secretary, Dr. Abhilaksh Likhi, Department of Fisheries, chaired a virtual interaction meeting on 12-1-2024 with Startups in the Fisheries and Aquaculture sector to understand their issues and challenges, and their role in unlocking the untapped potential of the fisheries sector. Winners of Fisheries Startup Grand Challenge, Senior officers from #DoF, #ICAR, and #FSI participated in the meeting.

  • Director Technical CAA attended Shrimp Farmers meet in Srikakulam jointly organised by MPEDA and Department of Fisheries on 11-1-2024.

  • Director Technical CAA along with the Members of Inspection Committee (MPEDA, Fisheries Officers)) inspected 2 shrimp hatcheries in Bheemili coast in Visakhapatnam District in AP State on 11-1-2024.

  • Director Technical CAA attended Shrimp Crop Harvest Review organised by the Society of Aquaculture Professionals on 6-1-2024 at Chennai

  • Director Technical CAA Visited Bio-floc unit of Sri Choudhary, Bandanpudi Village, Kazalur Mandal, Kakinada district in AP State ON 30-12-2023

  • The Director, CAA convened VC with field level Consultants of Andhra Pradesh State on “Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra” on 13.12.2023 at 3.30 p.m and appraised on process of mobilazation of applications at Gram Panchayat level, digitalisation of data at Banks for issuance of Kisan Credit Cards to fishers and fish farmers at saturation level.

  • The Secretary, CAA convened VC with field level Consultants of AP, Odisha and Gujarat State on Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra on 11.12.2023 at 3.00 p.m and directed to coordinate with Fisheries Officers, participate in Gram Panchayat level awareness programmes and facilitate fishers and aquaculture farmers to get their Kisan Credit Cards.

  • Shri. Parshottam Rupala, Hon’ble Union Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying, GoI ,Dr. L. Murugan, Minister of State for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, GoI, Secretary to GOI Department of Fisheries, Ministry of Fisheries & AHD and other delegates have visited Coastal Aquaculture Authority Exhibition Stall 21 November at GFC 2023 at Ahmedabad Gujarat.
